Residency at the Suza factory

The Suza Factory is the main tool of the MAM Foundation to accomplish its mission. It is the place in the spatial and mental sense where the "Site Specific" projects are conceived, developed and realized.
The MAM Foundation's residency program is driven by the desire to localize creation in a milieu that is a priori "non-artistic"; on the periphery of traditional centers of dissemination and the art economy. The environment is the locality of Grand-Suza, Suza; geographical base of the MAM Foundation.
The residences respect the principle of an aesthetic and an ethic that would be maintained and merged in a fair and harmonious movement.

In this experimental approach, respectful of the environment, there is also the affirmed will to "make event"; in the sense of proposing ways, attitudes and possibly original forms in the creation, the presentation and finally the apprehension of the works of creation. The works will be thus conceived from the rooting in the ecosystem of Grand-Suza, Suza, this one becoming finally and in the majority of the cases the framework of their destination.

The program is structured around 3 temporalities:

• The time of the creative residency: here the projects of the invited creators, both local and foreign, are contextualized (conception, duration, realization).
• The time of the pedagogical program: depending on the opportunity of his residency, the resident can realize a youth workshop, a talk, a workshop with young artists, other forms of supervision.
• The time of the exhibition program that is part of the Restitution platform.

The residency program of the Suza Creative cluster is conceived and carried out in interaction with those of the other two dedicated clusters of the Suza Factory: Suza Academy and Suza Lev.
